Brand Owl Promotional Products started in a garage by the ocean in 2015 — pressing shirts, learning embroidery, and quietly building something that would eventually serve startups, breweries, real estate teams, and Fortune-500 mortgage giants. Same wisdom-keeper mentality. Same hands-on craft. Now with better machines.

THE ORIGIN

Grassroots, by the ocean.

In 2015, I bought a screen press, an embroidery machine, and set up shop in a garage in San Clemente. My first real client was a large mortgage company — they took a chance on a one-person operation, and I learned every part of the craft on their order. Print, stitch, pack, ship.

The next call was a gas company with hundreds of drivers. Their marketing team wanted to find exactly the right product for their team — not the cheapest, not the flashiest, the right one. We spent real time on it. They came back. So did the mortgage company. So did the next client, and the next.

That's been the pattern for 11 years.

WHY BRAND OWL

Wisdom keepers. A wise choice.

Owls are wisdom keepers. That's where the name came from — not a logo trend, not a brand exercise, just a belief that the best work happens when someone slows down enough to actually understand what you need before they hand you a quote.

Most promo companies are order takers. We're makers. There's a difference, and our clients can feel it within the first email.

PHILOSOPHY

We build things that make people feel appreciated.

The point of branded merchandise isn't the merchandise. It's the moment someone unboxes their new-hire kit on day one and feels welcomed. The launch event where every cup, hat, and tote ties together perfectly. The closing gift that gets posted on Instagram because it actually feels like a gift.

We don't do swag. We design things that land.

We're a great fit for:

We don't have the machinery to do those well. When someone comes to us with that kind of project, we point them somewhere it'll get done right. That's part of being honest about what we do.

A FAVORITE PROJECT

7,000 cups for an IPO.

A long-time client was about to go public. They wanted custom cups for the celebration — not just printed, but with confetti inside the double-walled tumblers, color-matched to the exact Pantones in their brand book.

Two colors of confetti, perfectly tuned to the brand. Seven thousand units. Tight timeline because, well, IPOs don't reschedule.

We sourced, color-matched, produced, and shipped them in time for the celebration. That's the kind of project that reminds me why I started this company. It's never just merchandise. It's a moment that matters to the people involved, and our job is to land it.

WHAT'S NEXT

Building for the next 10 years.

After a decade in this business, the goal isn't just to keep the lights on. It's to build something that scales — better systems, more capacity, faster turnarounds, deeper relationships with the suppliers who actually deliver.

OUTSIDE THE SHOP

Life happens in between orders.

When we're not running production, my wife and I are usually traveling, hiking, sailing, or chasing ancient ruins somewhere we've never been. Sometimes we get lost in a city we don't know. Buster doesn't usually come on the international trips, but he's earned a few road trips.
